Before conceiving of The Shelby, we looked at what all of Los Angeles’s Best Restaurants had in common. We did the same with Los Angeles’s Best Bars. They didn’t share any particular decor, location or cuisine. No, what they all had in common was how they made you feel. Comfort, style, quality became our guiding principles.

Located on West 3rd, just east of La Cienega and the Beverly Center, The Shelby is named for the maternal family home of owner Chad England. To help bring his vision to life, he enlisted the prodigious talents of Chef Sascha Lyon (from New York hot spots Daniel, Balthazar, and Pastis), and esteemed L.A. wine and cocktail expert Josh Goldman.

Our mission statement drove us to ensure that every dish, be it brunch or dinner, is prepared using only the finest, freshest ingredients. Our appetizers are just as meticulously prepared as our steaks, sandwiches, burgers or salads.

The same attention to detail went into the choosing of every libation. Our wines chosen to cover every occasion, our beer selection perfect for any game or match, and our craft cocktails can turn any night into a celebration.

Every table and sofa chair, the exposed bricks, the layout of our outdoor patio, the vintage photos and old-world light fixtures, each and every detail was chosen to create an environment that brings people together.

From the moment you walk into The Shelby, we want you to feel like you’re at home. In place of pretentiousness, we offer comfort. Where others aim for exclusivity, we only care about quality. It’s all about you. So dine, drink, enjoy, it’s why The Shelby opened its doors.

The Shelby is available for photo shoots, commercials and similar bookings. We also offer catering and delivery, and if you’re looking to book the entire restaurant, or a section of it for a special event or occasion, we can ensure an evening unlike any other. We sincerely hope to see you soon!
